[Music] read it again a major literacy Improvement project undertaken by the crane Center in partnership with external stakeholders read it again is a curriculum supplement designed to develop and strengthen young Children’s Foundation in language and Literacy By enhancing your own work that you’re currently doing doing in your learning environments Twitter the ready first person to get so any questions that you have about implementation they are going to be the folks that you want to go to hi um I’m Kim Nathan I’m one of the instructional coaches for writing for Success read it again is an evidence-based low-cost instructional supplement designed to promote intentional teaching practices to boost early literacy skills for young children I’m just going to walk you through some snapshots of the lesson to show you how you can go about doing these lessons but also how you can make them your own in your classroom because each classroom is unique as a family child care provider I I’m My Own employee I wear a lot of hats so simple is best for me yes so I’m just trying to get all new information I can get to try new things meeting the staff and all the other providers administrators and stuff it was a plus for me tonight I do have a curriculum now the but I was ready for a change so when I saw it through Ohio State I said hey this is something I want to take experience read it again and see the various components of the program a listening can be filled in the blank Leonardo the terrible monster monster one two three three the read it again program can make a difference in your classroom I’m an administrator and also owner of a five-star Child Care Center we’re five star rated and we are really big on kindergarten Readiness and just making sure all of the little people that leave us are ready for that next Learning Journey I don’t have a curriculum yet I’m planning I do a monthly planning but it this seems like it’s going to be so much simpler I might just tell the children what I want them to say everybody say Leonardo’s a terrible monster Leonardo the terrible monster Leonardo the terrible monster monster soliciting we’re just seeing the answer right away this easy to follow curriculum supplement is for preschoolers as well as infants and toddlers And enhances the work already taking place in early learning environments we’re really excited to start utilizing the read it again program within our Center our staff are really excited and I think it’s the way it’s all spelled out with just step by step there’s no way to go wrong energy you see something else that might make Tony unique on the page yellow teeth can you point that out oh he has a yellow or a gold tooth that could make him unique too so on our learner’s ladder we are getting this visual representation that this content might be too hard for some children the content might be just right for someone else and then it can be too easy we don’t want to just Chuck something out because it’s hard we want to scaffold those children and get that means to give them the temporary support they need to meet that goal um so this was our just a snapshot of what a lesson looks like and how it can be used in the classroom read it again provides lesson plans and materials to enhance the experience and see results that every day I’m not trying to do something different it’s a flow of what I’m doing and at the end hopefully prayerfully you know I’m going to see some results with the students that I’m teaching we are going to funnel it in with the creative curriculum that we’ve used now and I think it’s going to give us that added bonus of what we need for our children to succeed for more information on how to get started visit readitagain.osu.edu [Music] foreign
